A Master Protocol for Biomarker-Based Treatment of AML (The Beat AML Trial)
This study is testing a personalized approach to treating acute myeloid leukemia, a type of blood and bone marrow cancer. By looking closely at the unique genetic makeup of each patient's cancer, doctors aim to match them with the most promising targeted treatment.
Adults age 60 and older with newly diagnosed or returning acute myeloid leukemia are typically eligible. Younger adults may also qualify depending on their specific genetic traits and previous treatments.
Participants will first undergo genetic testing of their cancer cells to find the best matching treatment sub-study. Depending on the assigned sub-study, participants will receive either experimental targeted therapies, standard chemotherapy, or a combination of medications.
