Phase II Trial of Eflornithine/DFMO as Maintenance Therapy for Molecular High Risk/Very High Risk and Relapsed/Refractory Medulloblastoma

This study is testing a medication called DFMO as a 'maintenance' therapy for children and young adults with high-risk medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer. The goal is to see if this drug can help prevent the cancer from coming back by blocking the specific chemicals that cancer cells need to grow.

This trial is for patients aged 21 and younger who have specific molecular types of medulloblastoma that are high-risk or have returned after previous treatment. Eligibility depends on the specific genetic markers of the tumor and whether the patient has finished previous cancer treatments.

Participants will take the study drug, DFMO, to help keep the cancer in remission after their initial treatments. The medical team will closely monitor patients to track how well the drug works and ensure the patient is safe while taking it.

The study is currently recruiting patients at locations in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Oakland and San Diego, California. You should speak with your oncology team to see if one of these centers is the right fit for your care.
