Open Label Phase 1 and Target Validation Study of ONC206 in Children and Young Adults With Newly Diagnosed or Recurrent Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), and Other Recurrent Primary Malignant Central Nervous System (CNS) Tumors
This study is testing an experimental drug called ONC206, either alone or with radiation, to treat children and young adults with specific aggressive brain or spinal cord tumors. The drug works by triggering a "stress response" that helps kill cancer cells while trying to leave healthy cells alone.
This trial is for patients aged 2 or older who have been diagnosed with a specific type of brain tumor called a DMG (H3K27 altered). You must be finished with previous treatments and have recovered from their side effects to be eligible.
Participants will receive the experimental drug ONC206, and some may also receive standard radiation therapy. You might also have the option to undergo special MRI scans that look at how the chemicals in your brain are reacting to the treatment.
This study is currently recruiting patients at medical centers in San Francisco, California; Washington, D.C.; and Atlanta, Georgia. Because it is a phase 1 study, the main goal is to find the best dose and ensure the treatment is safe for patients.
