An Open-label, Randomized, Multicenter, Phase 3 Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Trastuzumab Deruxtecan as First-line Treatment of Unresectable, Locally Advanced, or Metastatic NSCLC Harboring HER2 Exon 19 or 20 Mutations (DESTINY-Lung04)

This study is testing a targeted cancer-fighting medication called Trastuzumab Deruxtecan to see if it works better than standard chemotherapy and immunotherapy for a specific type of lung cancer. It focuses on non-small cell lung cancer that has specific genetic changes called HER2 mutations and has not yet been treated with whole-body therapy.

You may be able to join if you are 18 or older, have advanced non-small cell lung cancer with a HER2 mutation, and have not yet received systemic treatments for your advanced cancer. Your heart must be healthy and pumping normally, and you must not have certain other genetic mutations like EGFR or ALK.

Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study drug, Trastuzumab Deruxtecan, or standard treatments like chemotherapy and immunotherapy. You will be closely monitored by the study team throughout the process to check your health and how well the treatment is working.

This study is taking place at multiple locations, including sites in Alaska and California. The study is currently active, which means it is underway, though it is not actively looking for new participants right now.
