A Phase 1/2 Trial of Selinexor (KPT-330) and Radiation Therapy in Newly-Diagnosed Pediatric Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and High-Grade Glioma (HGG)
This study is testing a medication called selinexor combined with standard radiation therapy for children and young adults with newly diagnosed brain tumors like DIPG or high-grade glioma. Researchers want to find the safest dose of this medicine and see if it can help shrink these aggressive tumors.
Patients must be 25 years old or younger with a newly diagnosed, localized high-grade brain tumor or DIPG who have not received prior cancer treatments other than surgery and steroids. Certain age and genetic requirements apply for adults participating in the study.
Participants will receive a combination of standard radiation therapy and the study drug selinexor to help fight the cancer cells. Throughout the study, doctors will closely monitor participants' health using imaging scans and tissue checks to see how well the treatment works and manage side effects.
This study is currently recruiting patients at select medical centers in locations including Birmingham, Alabama, and Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona.
