A Phase III Randomized Trial of Repeated Superselective Intraarterial Cerebral Infusion (SIACI) of Bevacizumab (Avastin) With Temozolomide and Radiation Compared to Temozolomide and Radiation Alone in Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma (GBM)
This study is testing a new way to deliver a cancer-fighting drug directly into the brain's arteries for patients with a newly diagnosed, aggressive brain cancer called glioblastoma (GBM). Researchers hope this method will help patients live longer and keep their cancer from growing for a longer period of time compared to standard treatments.
This trial is for adults (18+) recently diagnosed with a specific type of GBM who have not yet started chemotherapy or radiation. You must also be able to perform daily activities on your own and be able to lie still for an MRI scan.
Participants will be split into two groups: one will receive standard radiation and chemotherapy, while the other will receive the same standard care plus the experimental delivery of the drug Bevacizumab directly into brain arteries. Doctors will closely monitor your health, safety, and quality of life throughout the study.
