A Feasibility Study Examining the Use of Non-Invasive Focused Ultrasound (FUS) With Oral Etoposide Administration in Children With Progressive Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG)

This study is testing a new way to deliver chemotherapy directly to hard-to-reach brain tumors called diffuse midline gliomas. By using sound waves to temporarily open a protective barrier around the brain, doctors hope to help medicine reach the tumor more effectively while reducing side effects.

Who can participate?

This trial is for children and young adults aged 4 to 21 who have been diagnosed with a specific type of progressive brain tumor. Participants must be generally healthy enough to undergo the procedures and meet specific criteria regarding their physical activity levels.

What will happen?

Participants will take a chemotherapy medicine called etoposide by mouth. They will also receive a non-invasive procedure where sound waves, guided by specialized mapping technology, are used to safely and temporarily open the barrier around the brain tumor site.
