Window-of-Opportunity Trial of Ulixertinib for MAPK-Activated Gliomas

This study is testing a new medication called ulixertinib to see if it can successfully reach brain tumors. Doctors want to learn if this drug can cross the 'blood-brain barrier,' which is a natural protective filter that often stops medicines from entering the brain.

This trial is for adults (and some adolescents) with specific brain or spinal cord tumors that have a particular genetic mutation. You must be able to provide medical records confirming your tumor type and must not be taking certain other medications or recent treatments.

Participants will take the experimental drug, which is designed to block the signals that cause cancer cells to grow. Depending on the study part, this may involve undergoing surgery to help researchers monitor how well the drug reaches the tumor site.

The study is currently recruiting patients in Houston, Texas. Because it is an early-phase trial, it is focused on gathering initial data about how the drug works in the human body.
