Radiation Prior to TKI to Delay Progression in Advanced Driver-Mutated Non-small Cell Lung Cancers (RadiaNCe Lung X)
This study is testing if using radiation on the main lung tumor before starting targeted pill therapy can help keep lung cancer from growing for a longer time. The goal is to see if this combined approach works better than taking the pills alone for patients with advanced lung cancer.
You may be eligible if you are 18 or older with a specific type of advanced lung cancer that has a genetic 'driver' mutation. You must have a main tumor that hasn't been treated with radiation before and be able to take oral medications.
Participants will receive radiation treatment to target the main tumor in the lung, followed by a daily targeted therapy pill called a TKI. Your care team will closely monitor you with regular check-ups and scans to see how your cancer responds to the combined treatment.
The study is currently recruiting new participants at a clinical center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
