A Phase II Trial to Evaluate Pemetrexed Response in Relation to Tumor Alterations of Gene Status in Patients With Previously Treated Metastatic Urothelial Carcinoma and Other Solid Tumors

What is this study?

This study is testing if a chemotherapy drug called Pemetrexed is effective for patients with bladder or other solid tumors that have specific genetic changes. The goal is to see if this treatment can better target cancer cells that have lost certain proteins, helping to stop them from growing.

Who can participate?

This trial is for patients with advanced cancer that has spread, specifically those whose tumor tests show mutations in the KMT2D (MLL4), KDM6A (UTX), or MTAP genes. You may be eligible if you have already tried other treatments and have not taken Pemetrexed in the past.

What will happen?

Participants will receive the study medication and undergo regular check-ups, which include scans to monitor the size of the tumors. You will also provide tissue or fluid samples so researchers can track how your body and cancer respond to the treatment.

Where and when?

The study is currently recruiting patients and is taking place in Chicago and Orland Park, Illinois. Please speak with your doctor to see if these locations are accessible for you.

Key Points
  • 1Targets specific genetic "loss of function" mutations in your tumor cells.
  • 2Open to patients whose cancer has continued to grow after previous treatments.
  • 3Requires a 3-week waiting period after your last cancer treatment before beginning the study.
