Phase 1/2 Trial of PEP-CMV + Nivolumab for Newly Diagnosed Diffuse Midline Glioma/High-grade Glioma and Recurrent Diffuse Midline Glioma/High-grade Glioma, Medulloblastoma, and Ependymoma (PRiME II)
This study is testing a new way to treat specific types of brain and spinal cord tumors in children and young adults. By combining a special vaccine with immune-boosting drugs, researchers hope to teach the body's own immune system to better recognize and fight cancer cells.
This trial is open to patients between 4 and 25 years old who have been diagnosed with certain types of aggressive brain or spinal tumors. Participants must also be in generally good health regarding their blood counts and organ function to ensure their body can handle the treatment.
Participants will receive a combination of an experimental vaccine, a tetanus booster, and immune-supporting medications like Nivolumab. Standard chemotherapy (Temozolomide) may also be used as part of the treatment plan to help stop cancer growth.
