By using a vaccine to help the immune system recognize cancer cells, researchers hope to find a safer and more effective way to stop the cancer from growing.
This trial is for patients with hormone-receptor positive, HER2-negative breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and has a specific genetic change called an ESR1 mutation. Participants must have already tried certain standard hormone treatments and CDK 4/6 inhibitors without success.
Participants will receive the medication elacestrant along with a dendritic cell vaccine, which is designed to teach your immune system how to fight your specific type of cancer. The medical team will closely monitor your health throughout the study to ensure the treatment is safe and to track how your cancer responds.
