A Phase III, Randomized, Open-label Study of Izalontamab Brengitecan (BMS-986507) in Combination With Osimertinib Versus Osimertinib Monotherapy or Osimertinib in Combination With Platinum-based Chemotherapy as First-Line Therapy in Patients With EGFR-Mutant Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
This study is testing a new medication called izalontamab brengitecan, combined with a standard targeted therapy drug, to see if it works better than current treatments for people with a specific type of advanced lung cancer. The goal is to find more effective ways to help people whose lung cancer has a specific genetic mutation called an EGFR mutation.
You may be able to join if you have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer that has a specific genetic change (EGFR mutation) and have not yet received treatment for it. You should also be generally active and have cancer that can be measured on standard imaging scans.
Participants will be randomly placed into groups to receive either the new drug combination, the standard targeted therapy alone, or the standard therapy plus chemotherapy. Throughout the study, you will have regular check-ups and imaging scans so your doctors can monitor how you and your cancer are responding to the treatment.
The study is currently in the planning stages and is not yet recruiting patients. It will take place at medical centers in Beverly Hills, Fullerton, and La Jolla, California.
