Acceptability of an Augmented Reality Virtual Coach for Physical Exercise Practice in Patients With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: a Multicenter Study
This study tests whether an augmented reality virtual coach—a device that projects a helpful guide into your view—can make exercising easier and more fun for people with chronic lung disease. Staying active is important for feeling better, but it can be hard to keep up without the right support.
You might be eligible if you are 18 or older, have a confirmed diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and have not had a sudden worsening of your breathing symptoms in the past month.
You will attend a single session where you fill out some questionnaires, try out the augmented reality headset with a virtual coach for a short exercise session, and share your thoughts about the experience.
The study is currently recruiting participants and takes place in Montivilliers, France.
- 1Tests a new virtual coach to help you exercise safely
- 2Involves just one simple visit with questionnaires and a short exercise trial
- 3Helps improve future exercise programs for lung disease
